This is one of my new Gem OC's, Ammolite~ 

Ammolite began as an ancient experiment. Scientists of Homeworld wished to see if they could combine materials found on the newly inhabited Earth to create a new species of Gem. Ammolites were designed to be researchers of Earth, and were sent to collect data about the flora and fauna of the planet as a whole. After the higher ups decided they had enough data, the Ammolites were recalled to Homeworld. One decided independently to ignore the call and remain on Earth, though. She constantly seeks to expand her knowledge of the world, and enjoys watching the planet change over the millennia. She currently lives in a large underground cave where she displays and catalogs all of her research. 

The physical design of her cave was inspired by the Calcified Cavern area of Okami C:
